Puan Fatimah Binti Mahrid’s Retirement Ceremony

On the 30thMarch, 2016, a special assembly was held in the Teresian Hall. The objective of this assembly was to hold a retirement ceremony for one of our beloved teachers, Puan Fatimah Binti Mahrid,  who would officially retire on the 3rdApril 2016.

The assembly officially started at 11.30 a.m. with the arrival of our beloved Principal, Madam Mary John. The assembly started with the singing of the national and state anthems, followed by the prayer and ‘doa’. The ‘ikrar’ was also read out.

The assembly continued with a moving speech by our principal Madam Mary John. In her speech, she described Puan Fatimah as a friendly teacher with a total of 31 years of teaching experience. She also extended her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Puan Fatimah for all her years of service.

Then, it was Puan Fatimah’s turn to give a short speech. In her speech, Puan Fatimah thanked God for giving her good health and helping her carry out her duties as a teacher for the past 31 years. She also thanked the principal for all her guidance and support throughout the years. She also thanked all her colleagues for being there with her through thick and thin in the past 31 years. She ended her speech by thanking everyone who had put in effort in preparation of the assembly for her.

Later, the brass band performed the song ‘Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Into the Woods". Then the school choir performed two songs, namely ‘The Ash Grove and pitch Perfect Mashup of Just the Way you Are" and "Just a Dream". A short video presentation was then presented about Puan Fatimah. After the performances, the school board and a few associations presented souvenirs and gifts to Puan Fatimah.

At 12.45 p.m., the assembly ended. Sayonara Puan Fatimah, and have a happy retirement!
