NKF Talk by Shawn Lee

On the 7th of March, 2016, Shawn Lee, who is a well known beat-boxer and also the youth ambassador of the Nation Kidney Foundation, has been invited to SMK St. Teresa School to give a talk on the importance of kidneys to us.

                Students gathered in the hall at 7.00 a.m. as the event started at 7.30 a.m.  They were feeling exhilarated as it was their first time meeting Shawn Lee in person. The students were seated according to their class while awaiting his arrival.

                  After the arrival of Shawn Lee, the event started with a video-clip featuring Shawn.  After that, Shawn gave a talk on to raise awareness among the audience the importance and ways to keep our kidneys healthy.  It was then followed by another clip on the NKF (National Kidney Foundation), its role in helping the needy.  Upon knowing that Shawn was going to put on a beat-box performance, the audience was hyped up.  His electrifying performance won received an overwhelming response from the audience.

                  Before the event ended, the school principal Madam Mary John handed a gift to Shawn a gift as a token of appreciation.  Upon the Madam Mary’s request, Shawn then performed “Madlife”, which was one of his first singles.  The event ended at 8.45 a.m.  Students went back to their respective classes with a better understanding of the message given.
