On Friday, 15th of May 2015, St. Teresa's Secondary School organised its annual Teachers' Day celebration.

The theme of this year’s celebration was ‘All Around The World’. The celebration consisted of two parts, the formal and informal parts.

The ceremony began at 7.30 a.m. The objective of the celebration was to show appreciation to and honour all the teachers of St. Teresa’s Secondary School for all their efforts in educating the students.

The assembly commenced with two speeches - one by the Head Prefect, Esther Chai, and the other by Mr. Awang Kok Omar Bin Awang Taib, the Senior Assistant of Administration of St. Teresa’s Secondary School, on behalf of the Director of Education of Malaysia, Datuk Dr Khair Bin Mohamad Yusof.

After that, the celebration was officiated with a cake-cutting ceremony. Then, the teachers swore the oath ‘Ikrar Guru Malaysia’, led by Mr. Awang Kok Omar Bin Awang Taib.  Right after, they also sang the song ‘Kami Guru Malaysia’ which was accompanied on the piano by Mdm Yii Ling.

At 9.10 a.m. sharp, the informal part of the celebration began. The students and teachers were entertained by performances from the school’s very own students.

The school’s Symphonic Brass Band performed two songs entitled ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘Disco Lives’, which was accompanied by an interesting choreography and costume. Next up was an outstanding silat performance by Helang Perkasa Putih. After that, a few lucky draws were held.

The next performance was a drama entitled ‘The Right Thing To Do’ by the students of 4S1 which brought smiles and laughter among teachers and students. The next performance was put on by Olive Faith and her group.  Another group called ‘Menaley’ had their turn after that. Their renditions of songs were accompanied by instruments played by themselves.

After that, Nur Edriana of 5S2 performed a lovely medley of songs which amazed the audience. Next Alya binti Rafaie of 3A1 was accompanied on the piano by her classmate Audrey Stefanie for the song "Black Space."  Chelsea Rose of 5S3 who sang the song ‘Hanya Di Mercu’. Lastly, a korean dance was presented by a group of afternoon-session students.

As usual, there was an award for the best dressed female and male teacher respectively. This year, the award went to Mr Mohd Yusof and Ms Chong Chin Yee.

The celebration ended at 11.50 a.m. All in all, the celebration was very enjoyable and everyone had a good time.
